Advertisement: voluntary language editor
The Journal for the History of Knowledge Blog is looking for a language editor to start on 25 October 2020 (or as close as possible to this date) for 12 months. This is a voluntary job, and the Journal for the History of Knowledge is unable to offer remuneration.
Journal for the History of Knowledge
The Journal for the History of Knowledge is an open access, peer-reviewed journal devoted to the history of knowledge in its broadest sense. The JHoK’s editorial team consists of two editors-in-chief (Sven Dupré and Geert Somsen), a managing editor (Renée Schilling), a language editor (Margaret Meredith) and an assistant managing editor (Max Bautista Perpinya).
To enhance the outreach of the journal articles we also publish the Journal for the History of Knowledge Blog, edited by Monica Klasing Chen. JHoK’s authors are invited to write short essays (600-900 words) and provide additional information related to their articles or to reflect on their research process.

Function
As a language and style editor, you will work closely with the blog editor, Monica Klasing Chen, to edit the blog posts (in English) submitted to the Journal of the History of Knowledge Blog (about 10-15 blog post per year).
Profile and Qualifications
- You have a proven affinity with the history of knowledge or a related field
- You are a native speaker of English or have an equivalent facility to write in English – You are able to apply the standards and rules from The Chicago Manual of Style
- You have the capacity to work in a diligent and reliable way
- You can work independently and as part of a team
